People sometimes do not realise that they already possess many inner resources and talents. So the strengths approach sometimes invites them to focus on all their personal and professional assets. People can then focus on how to use some of these resources to achieve their picture of success.
The following exercise invites a person to take three steps.
* They can clarify their Personal Assets.
They start by describing all their personal assets. For example, their health, family, friends, finances, attitude, ability to overcome adversity, personal drive and whatever.
* They can clarify their Professional Assets.
They describe their professional assets. For example, their past achievements, talents, creativity, work ethic, personal network, satisfied customers, experience, knowledge, wisdom and whatever.
* They can clarify how to make good use of their assets.
How can they use their assets? How can they use their personal and professional gifts to encourage other people? How can they use them to achieve their goals? They can complete the following exercise.
